With 23 years’ experience in senior leadership, management and advisory positions in the international development and humanitarian sector, 15 years in the corporate sector, and from working and travelling across six continents and in over 50 countries, Adi brings a plethora of perspectives and expertise to his role as Director of POD International Consulting.
Adi’s fields of expertise include: governance and local government, post-disaster reconstruction and recovery, research and analysis, monitoring evaluation and learning, community-driven rehabilitation and development, leadership coaching and development, team building, conceptual design and management of programmes and events, and their moderation and facilitation. Adi has also been a co-organiser, presenter, panelist and moderator in several global and regional conferences, and has extensive public speaking skills combined with innovative and stimulating methods and visualisation.
He has worked with a broad range of Development Partners and Donors in his various roles as Country Director, Programme/Team Leader, Principal Advisor, Senior Consultant/Sector Specialist, including BMZ, DFID, OFDA, DAH, EU/ECHO, GIZ, KFW, GFA, DWHH, IRC, DRC, ACTED, UNICEF, World Bank and OXFAM.
Adi holds a PhD from Oxford Brookes University, a Master’s Degree from Imperial College London and SOAS University (with distinction), after graduating with a B-Tech. in Engineering from Hertfordshire University, and now refers to himself as a ‘pracademic’. Adi intentionally includes robust research and analysis methods and approaches in his professional roles and programmes, with the global drive towards more evidence-based results and decision-making. In previous lives and vocations, he has worked in the HRD, educational, outdoor sports, electronics, agriculture and entertainment industries, and has also travelled extensively around the planet.
Adi is an Ambassador (alumni) for the University of London, and sat on the Board of Governors of The British School in Kathmandu, chairing its Education and HR Subcommittee. He is also a member of the International Leadership Association (ILA), the European Association of Development Research and Training Institute (EADI), and the International Professional Development Association (IPDA).
